Position Summary:

The manager is responsible for the overall management of the Supplier Resources Department which includes vendor management, vendor relations, contract management, E-Procurement and Supplier Management systems, and support of the Purchasing and Accounts Payable departments.

Organizational Relationships:

Interacts with internal and external customers at various levels, peers, management and executives.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Lead a Supplier Resources department within a Shared Service Center, serving over 200 retail locations and Corporate Headquarters operations
  2. Recruit, hire, develop and coach a team toward operational excellence in supplier onboarding, supplier enablement, and contract management among their assigned areas of responsibility
  3. Visualize, create and maintain metrics that improve efficiency and effectiveness of department
  4. Develop and monitor SLA’s that support operational objectives
  5. Resolve performance or compliance related issues/escalations with third parties
  6. Oversee functional design, workflows, content, and administration of e-procurement, contract and supplier management systems
  7. Respond to internal and external audit requests
  8. Communicate metrics to key business stakeholders for managing spend and open issues
  9. Aid stakeholders in contract negotiation, authoring, and terminations
  10. Oversee contract assignments, terminations, reporting, and vendor notifications in support of acquisitions and divestitures
  11. Build strong relationships externally with vendors and internally with business stakeholders
  12. Consult with senior management with tact and insight and executes all other tasks, duties, and responsibilities as assigned by management team


  1. Eight to ten years of progressive Purchasing and Sourcing experience
  2. Experience in Purchasing and Contract methodologies
  3. Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders
  4. Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  5. Strong analytical abilities
  6. Advanced knowledge in Excel and other Microsoft Office programs
  7. Ability to solve a wide variety of complex problems
  8. Highly organized, detail-oriented, data-driven, and analytical
  9. Experience working in supplier management, contract management, and e-procurement systems
  10. Bachelor’s degree in Business Discipline or 10+ years of relevant work experience
  11. At least 5 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, vendor management, or contracting
  12. Demonstrated ability to effectively lead an manage a team
  13. Ability to maintain confidentiality

Physical Requirements:
